Dear Members of the St. Andrew's Episcopal School Community,
It is with great excitement that we at St. Andrew's Episcopal School ready
ourselves for a new school year. One of my priorities as the new Headmaster is
to help streamline communication between the school and the people who care
about the school - current and former parents, alums, prospective students,
faculty, grandparents, and donors. With that in mind allow me to introduce
Gaudeamus, a weekly e-bulletin designed to keep you informed about what's going
on at St. Andrew's Episcopal School.
"Gaudeamus" is Latin for "Let's celebrate," and indeed
there is always a lot to celebrate at St. Andrew's. Our varsity football team
will soon be defending last year's perfect regular season. A Discovery Lab is
being developed for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Upper School
Drama director Ray McFarland is already mapping out the fall play. And this is
just a small sample of what's in store.
Every Monday there will be a new Gaudeamus telling you not only what's
happening at the school that week but also introducing you to new faculty and
highlighting student and faculty achievements, Saints' volunteerism, and
special days within the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.
I sincerely hope that you enjoy keeping up with St. Andrew's, and I thank you
for everything you've done in helping shape St. Andrew's Episcopal School into
the vibrant and creative place that it is today.
